Patience with foreclosure delays wearing thin, judge warns

One of the many cases sent by Schwartz to the land of the undead Thursday was one by U.S. Bank against a couple whose home lies just south of Palmetto Bay. The judge dismissed it when the plaintiff attorney failed to show up.

The couple’s Miami defense attorney, Gregorie Dolce with the Tauler Law Firm, said the case once belonged to Stern’s firm, and the bank has not hired new counsel since Stern backed out of lost all his firm’s cases in March.

She said her clients nervously spoke to her several times this month thinking they would lose their home.

“At least it gives them a little more time,” Dolce said.

If and when the case is revived, it is likely to end up clogging another judge’s calendar.
